Matthew Geary is the Senior Director of Information Security & Information Technology at Botkeeper. Matt is responsible for the information technology, security operations, risk management, and compliance functions of the organization.

Matt holds several professional certifications, such as CISSP (“Certified Information Systems Security Professional”), CISA (“Certified Information Systems Auditor”), and CRISC (“Certified in Risk and Information Systems Controls”).

Matt started his career in 2004 as an IT technician for his family’s IT company, with clients in the architecture and construction industries. In 2007, he was the network administrator for the Florida Aquarium until 2013 when he ventured off to form his own company, GIT Solutions LLC, that performed contract work for Google evaluating websites and search engine optimizations, as well as other IT services for companies in industries such as law, real estate, and industrial manufacturing. From 2015 until joining Botkeeper in 2024, Matt worked for a company in the MedTech industry. With multiple sales segments such as hospitals, direct-to-consumer patient home delivery, and supplying the US Military, his biggest accomplishment was leading a team that securely developed patient-impacting software generating over $20M, leading multiple M&A integrations, and was part of the leadership team that drove over 900% revenue growth with market leading margins.

He is a board member of Tampa Bay’s Information Systems Security Association and an active member of the security community, hosting various cybersecurity events and forums.

Matt can usually be found kayaking in Pinellas County, Florida, where his family has lived since the 1880s.
